My son Tymen has been learning guitar for one year. Before this, he kept playing his childminder’s guitar so we bought a smaller one and decided to try lessons. We contacted Vicki, as she was very close to us. A few friends of ours have lessons with another chap but the feedback was that he did not stimulate the kids enough and they found the lessons boring. I had no expectations, I just hoped she would be an inspiring teacher. Tymen didn’t have a clue what he was doing before Vicki; it was all action and lots of noise. Now he can play numerous recognisable tunes and play pieces in a group. Vicki is extremely encouraging and very patient with Tymen; you can tell that she genuinely cares about the progress of her students. There is a great structure and the kids learn really quickly and enjoy the lessons! Vicki provides instant feedback via email on each lesson and suggests what pieces need practicing during the week. The online resources are also great! Having backing tracks to play along with helps to keep Tymen in time and to learn the pieces correctly. Tymen has learnt do much more than I had hoped for in only a year! The results were almost instantaneous, as he was playing tunes by the second or third lesson. Amazing! I also really like the live sessions, which are great for Tymen’s confidence as well as being great fun. I would definitely recommend Vicki as a teacher because she is a brilliant teacher who does everything possible to progress her students. I am so happy that we found her. If you want your children to play the guitar long term then you need Vicki. They won’t get bored and ask to swap to another activity as I have seen many other kids do. She is great!
