I like learning how to play new tunes every week, or getting better at playing them. The online backing tracks are really good, I find them very helpful when I practise. Vicki is a really good teacher, she helps you with where to place your fingers, she encourages you when you’re stuck on any tunes and she tells you to never give up and keep on practising. She also lets you learn songs / riffs that you want to play, and will give you the music to do this. Vicki doesn’t make you do grades so you don’t get stressed and it stays fun. She’s also pretty cool and has her own band, she’s not strict and the guitar lessons are fun and not at all like school. I can now play the riff from Nirvana’s “Come as You Are”, I understand and can play a lot of full chords and I can read tab really well. I can also now play along to Ed Sheeran’s ‘Lego House’”

(Mum, Anna): “I thought that the lessons would be quite prescriptive and formal. I like that Vicki is very informal and is led by what Tommy wants to learn. Also, the fact that she talks to Tommy as she would do an adult (rather than a teacher/child) – I think he really responds well because of that.
